DeSean Jackson Has Westbrook on His Fantasy Team

Hey DeSean, did you break the plane of the goalline, or did you break the plane of the 2 ? Okay, thanks.Oh, those zany NFL receivers.  In last night's barnburner in Dallas, DeSean Jackson turned in a play that will be immortalized in bonehead infamy.  In the 2nd quarter, the gifted wideout toasted the Dallas secondary and caught a 60-yard McNabb bomb in full stride.  While this would be a remarkable play in its own right, Jackson trumped himself by apparently mistaking the 2-yard line for the Goalline.  His premature 'toss-the-ball-behind-him' celebration forced officials to reset the ball to the one yard line, with Philly maintaining possession.

What do you the think the odds were that Andy Reid would follow that play by calling an end zone fade pass to Jackson?  Uh, right.  Westbrook instead took a handoff and sumersaulted over the top for the TD.

WeTheSportsPeople, in its quest for the story behind the story, is investigating the link between the "mistake" and the fact that Jackson drafted Brian Westbrook in the 1st round of his fantasy league.  And althouh Jackson reportedly added himself from the waiver wire after a strong performance vs. the Rams in Week 1, he did not start himself in week 2.  Therefore, a TD in real life would not yield him any fantasy points.

"The Cowboys have a decent secondary, and I thought they would hold me in check," DeSean said after the game, when asked why he did not start himself in the fantasy league.

Decent secondary?  Someone forgot to tell that to the Cowboys, who allowed McNabb to complete 25 passes for 281 yards and 2 .... no wait ... make that 1 TD.
